2025 CIPM ABUJA BRANCH ELECTIONS

Distinguished Professional Colleagues,

A seven (7) member Electoral Committee was constituted on the 15th of January, 2025, at the Monthly Branch meeting, with a mandate to conduct the 2025 Branch Executive Elections coming up on Wednesday, the 19th of March, 2025.

The committee members are:

• Suzie Odeh, ACIPM
• Majiebo Aku, ACIPM
• Amara Ezendiru, ACIPM
• Richard Kantee, ACIPM
• Genevieve Ike Johnson, ACIPM

The Committee promptly held a virtual meeting on the 26th of January, 2025 during which the following resolutions were reached:

THE 2025 CIPM ABUJA BRANCH ELECTIONS WILL BE VIRTUAL

A guideline is hereby presented as approved by the 2025 Electoral Committee in line with the CIPM State Bye-Laws , as amended, to guide members who are interested in contesting for any of the vacant positions in the Abuja Branch of the Institute:

1. Any member contesting for an elective position must be a registered member of the Institute, with a record of consistent participation in Branch activities.
2. Any member contesting for an elective position must be a financial member at the Branch and the National levels.
3. A member contesting for an elective position shall be nominated by one up-to-date financial member and his nomination shall be supported by another financial member.
4. Election will be virtual by secret ballot at the Abuja Branch Annual General Meeting (AGM), and only registered and financial members are eligible to vote and be voted for.
5. A list of financial members shall be provided by the Branch by the 10th day of March, 2025, which will be used for both the accreditation of voters for the online polls and the screening of candidates for the elective positions.
6. Winners of the election shall be by simple majority of the votes cast in the elections.

Completed nomination forms should be scanned and sent to the email address:

Please note that this timeline is strict in order to accommodate the screening, Branch and National clearances of candidates .

Interested and qualified candidates are hereby encouraged to contest for any of the positions below:

• Chairman
• Vice Chairman
• Secretary
• Assistant Secretary/ PRO
• Treasurer
• Financial Secretary

Once cleared as a candidate, picture, profile, and manifesto etc., are to be sent in the required format (jpeg, PDF?) as directed to: 2024cipmabujaelections@gmail.com within 48 hours.

Please find following a schedule of election activities as approved by the Committee:

1. 1st - 20th February, 2025: Notice to all eligible candidates for collection, completion, and return of nomination forms.
2. 21st February - 3rd March, 2025: Screening & clearance of applicants by the Electoral Committee, Abuja Branch and CIPM National.
3. 4th - 7th March, 2025: Submission of documents as required by all cleared candidates for virtual election purposes.
4. 8th - 16th of March, 2025, Campaign period for candidates.
5. 17th - 18th March 2025, Sensitization by Electoral Committee on Virtual Polls, receipt of Access codes/mail by accredited voters.
6. 19th March, 2025 12 noon - 4pm, voting, determination and announcement of returned candidates at the Branch 2025 AGM.
7. 19th March, 2025: Swearing-in of elected officers.
